Olympiad exam dates and registration deadlines, 2026–27
Six exam bodies, every date each of them publishes, and — the part most calendars leave out — how the registration deadline is actually decided for each one. Read the four rules below before the tables; they are what people get wrong.
Every row on this page was re-read against the exam body's own website on or after 14 October 2026. Each table carries its own source link and its own date. Bodies do move dates.

The deadlines that are actually near
Published cutoffs first, then the SOF deadlines that follow from its 30-day rule. Everything here is a registration date, not an exam date.
| Closes | Body | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| 22 October 2026 | Indian Talent Olympiad (ITO) | School route — Set B (extended from 10 October) |
| 30 October 2026 | Indian Talent Olympiad (ITO) | Individual online route — Slot 1 |
| 31 October 2026 | SilverZone Foundation | Every SilverZone papermarked tentative |
| 10 November 2026 | Indian Talent Olympiad (ITO) | School route — Set C |
And the SOF deadlines those dates hide
SOF publishes no cutoff table at all — it publishes a rule, so each deadline depends on the date your school picks. These are the three still ahead, worked out from that rule:
- SOF IEO (English)— if your school picks 17 Nov 2026, registration closes 18 October 2026
- SOF ISO (Science)— if your school picks 19 Nov 2026, registration closes 20 October 2026
- SOF IHO (Hindi)— if your school picks 23 Nov 2026, registration closes 24 October 2026
Same arithmetic for every other SOF date in the table below: 30 days back from whichever one your school chooses.

How olympiad registration actually works
Four things that decide your real deadline. None of them is the exam date.
Your school picks the date, not you
Every body above that registers through schools publishes two or three alternative dates per paper. The school chooses one for the whole class. A family cannot pick a different one, and the exam date you find on a body's website is not necessarily the one your child will sit.
The deadline is not 30 days before the exam — it is 30 days before YOUR school's date
This is SOF's rule and SOF's alone: registrations must reach SOF 30 days before the chosen date. So the deadline moves with the school's choice, and SOF states outright that once chosen, "change of date is not permitted". No other body on this page works this way — do not carry the 30-day arithmetic across to SilverZone, ITO, Unified Council, CREST or Humming Bird.
Schools close their own lists earlier still
Every cutoff on this page is the date the body must have the registration by. Your school has to collect forms, collate them and send them before that — so the date that actually binds you is your coordinator's, and it is earlier than anything here. Ask now rather than in the last week.
Some bodies will register your child without the school
We have confirmed direct routes at CREST, Unified Council for its online sittings, Indian Talent Olympiad on its individual online route, and Humming Bird. No single one of them covers all five subjects: the two widest cover four each and they are not the same four. Of these, only ITO's route runs Social Science and only Humming Bird's runs Hindi. SilverZone also runs an individual registration form of its own alongside its school route, which stays the default; which papers that form offers we have not been able to confirm, so ask SilverZone before ruling it out.
Every date, by body
The full 2026–27 calendar
Only the five subjects OlympAI covers, and only Classes 6 to 8. Where we have a full syllabus guide for a paper, the class links sit beside it.
Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF)
Cutoff is a rule, not a dateThrough your school only. SOF has no route that takes a family directly.
Registration
SOF publishes a rule, not a deadline: "Schools may send registrations by 30 days before the chosen date of each exam." So the cutoff depends on which date your school picks — and once it has picked, SOF states plainly that "change of date is not permitted". Work 30 days back from your school's chosen date, and treat that as immovable.
| Paper | Subject | Dates the body publishes |
|---|---|---|
IMO International Mathematics Olympiad | Maths |
|
ISO International Science Olympiad | Science |
Called NSO until the 2026-27 session — same body, same paper, new name. Search results and school circulars still say NSO, so both names refer to this. |
IEO International English Olympiad | English |
The earliest first date SOF runs — and its derived cutoff, 31 August 2026, has passed, so a school cannot still register for the 30 September sitting. Its other two dates keep their own derived cutoffs: if your school picks 27 October 2026, registrations must reach SOF by 27 September 2026; if it picks 17 November 2026, by 18 October 2026. |
IHO International Hindi Olympiad | Hindi |
Two dates, not three, and Classes 3 to 10 only. It is also the only SOF paper we cover that runs at ONE level — SOF states that on its own IHO participation page, where IMO, ISO and IEO each have a second. Derived cutoffs: if your school picks 23 November 2026, registrations must reach SOF by 24 October 2026; if it picks 22 January 2027, by 23 December 2026. |
ISSO International Social Studies Olympiad | Social Science |
Two dates, not three, and Classes 3 to 10 only, and — like IHO — it runs at ONE level. SOF states that under its own schedule table, where the second-level note names IEO, ISO and IMO and then lists ISSO among the single-level papers. Of the three social science papers we cover it is the last to come round: SilverZone iSSO's first sitting is 29 September 2026 and Indian Talent Olympiad NSSO's is 6 October 2026, both earlier than this one. All three run further sittings after it, so a family that misses this date has not missed social science for the season. Derived cutoffs: if your school picks 30 November 2026, registrations must reach SOF by 31 October 2026; if it picks 19 January 2027, by 20 December 2026. |
SilverZone Foundation
Cutoff published, marked tentativeThrough your school by default: a school needs at least 20 registrations to run a paper and pays nothing to become a centre. SilverZone also runs a public individual registration form at r.silverzone.org, which its own page labels "for individual registrations only. This is not a school registration link." Which papers and fees that form offers, we have not been able to confirm, so ask SilverZone before counting on it.
Registration
One cutoff for every paper SilverZone runs: 31 October 2026. It is one date covering every paper, not one deadline per exam, and it falls AFTER the first offline sitting of every paper it covers: iOM 8 October, iOS 14 October, iOEL 21 October, ABHO 6 October and iSSO both 29 September and 28 October 2026. So an entry made now is for a later sitting, and which one is the school's to confirm with SilverZone. SilverZone has now moved this cutoff twice, and both times only after the earlier date had gone by, with no announcement on the site. Its own exam-date endpoint returned 31 August 2026 until 1 September and 30 September 2026 from 2 September; it still returned 30 September 2026 on every record on 1 October, and on 14 October 2026 it returned 31 October 2026 on every one of its 34 records. SilverZone heads the schedule it appears on "Tentative Examination Schedule for the year 2026-27", so treat 31 October as the body's current date rather than a settled one, and ask SilverZone directly before counting on it.
| Paper | Subject | Dates the body publishes |
|---|---|---|
iOM International Olympiad of Mathematics | Maths |
|
iOS International Olympiad of Science | Science |
|
iOEL International Olympiad of English Language | English |
The schedule lists three dates while SilverZone's own iOEL page still describes a two-date structure. Ask your coordinator which of the published dates the school has actually opted for. |
ABHO Akhil Bhartiya Hindi Olympiad | Hindi |
|
iSSO International Social Studies Olympiad | Social Science |
SilverZone scheduled this paper's first sitting earlier than any other date on this page: 29 September 2026. Its later offline sittings are 28 October and 1 December 2026. SilverZone's one registration cutoff, now 31 October 2026 after it moved from 30 September, falls after both of the first two sittings, so ask your coordinator which sitting an entry made now would actually be for. |
Indian Talent Olympiad (ITO)
Cutoff publishedTwo separate routes with two separate schedules: through your school (three Sets, below), or directly as a family on ITO's individual online route, which has its own later dates and its own deadline.
Registration
The school route has three cutoffs and your school picks one Set: Set A 10 September 2026, Set B 22 October 2026, Set C 10 November 2026. Set B was published as 10 October 2026 and ITO extended it to 22 October: our 28 September read still said 10 October, and on 14 October 2026 the page read "LAST DATE TO REGISTER – SET B Extended Till 22 nd October, 2026". Set A moved twice before it fell — it read 31 August until 1 September, then 5 September until the morning of the 5th, then 10 September — and ITO announced none of these extensions, so a cutoff on this body is the date its own page shows on the day you read it. The individual online route is separate; its first slot's cutoff is 30 October 2026. ITO marks the online dates themselves as tentative, stating that "the final exam schedule will be updated 20 days prior to the actual exam dates" — the school Set dates carry no such caveat.
| Paper | Subject | Dates the body publishes |
|---|---|---|
IMO International Maths Olympiad | Maths |
|
ISO International Science Olympiad | Science |
|
EIO English International Olympiad | English |
|
NHO National Hindi Olympiad | Hindi |
School route only, and it is the one row on this body where that matters. ITO's individual online route runs exactly six papers — computer, social studies, general knowledge, English, science and maths — and Hindi is not among them, so a family registering themselves cannot take NHO at all. |
NSSO National Social Studies Olympiad | Social Science |
The individual online slots close on 30 October 2026, and this is the only direct, no-school route to a social-science olympiad anywhere on this page. Classes 1 to 10. |
Unified Council
No cutoff publishedBoth. A school can register a class, or a family can register directly for the online sitting — which happens on a later date than the school one, not the same day.
Registration
Unified Council publishes no registration cutoff for the 2026-27 session. That is a checked fact rather than a gap in our research: each paper page has a "Last Date of receiving applications" line, and on all three it is commented out of the page source carrying a 2020 date. Register as early as you can and confirm with the body directly.
| Paper | Subject | Dates the body publishes |
|---|---|---|
UIMO Unified International Mathematics Olympiad | Maths |
Unified Council publishes no second school date for UIMO — one date, not a choice of two. The 3 January date is the online track's practice run, not the exam. Full syllabus guide: Class 6 |
UIEO Unified International English Olympiad | English |
|
NSTSE National Level Science Talent Search Examination | Science |
NSTSE is a talent search rather than a pure science paper — it covers maths as well as science. Full syllabus guide: Class 6 |
CREST Olympiads
No cutoff publishedDirectly. CREST registers a student without any school involvement, and it is the simplest of the direct routes.
Registration
CREST publishes no registration cutoff. Registration is open now and each paper has two Level 1 slots to choose between. Level 2 is by qualification from Level 1, not by separate registration.
| Paper | Subject | Dates the body publishes |
|---|---|---|
CMO CREST Mathematics Olympiad | Maths |
A dated practice paper runs on 12 and 13 November 2026, ahead of Level 1. Full syllabus guide: Class 6 |
CSO CREST Science Olympiad | Science |
A dated practice paper runs on 3 and 4 November 2026. Full syllabus guide: Class 6 |
CEO CREST English Olympiad | English |
A dated practice paper runs on 29 and 31 October 2026. |
Humming Bird Education
No cutoff publishedBoth. Humming Bird registers a family directly online for Classes 1 to 12, at ₹150 a subject, and you pick which of the two dates your child sits as you register.
Registration
Humming Bird publishes no registration cutoff. Its two exam dates per paper are chosen by you at the moment you register, rather than by a school.
| Paper | Subject | Dates the body publishes |
|---|---|---|
HMO Humming Bird Mathematics Olympiad | Maths |
Full syllabus guide: Class 6 |
HSO Humming Bird Science Olympiad | Science |
Full syllabus guide: Class 6 |
HEO Humming Bird English Olympiad | English |
|
HHO Humming Bird Hindi Olympiad | Hindi |
The only Hindi paper on this page a family can register for without a school. Same ₹150, same form, same two-slot choice as maths and science. |
EduHeal Foundation (EHF) — nothing published yet
Registrations described as open, no 2026-27 exam dates published anywhere. Re-checked on 30 August 2026 — ehfworld.com and eduhealfoundation.org between them carry no mention of 2026 at all. This is the sixth weekly re-check with the same result, and the 30 August run added a finding: the two "Individual Participation" links on ehfworld.com are wrapped in HTML comments in the live page source and render nowhere, so EHF has no live individual-registration path either.

Ask us about your child's olympiad
Tell us your child's class and subject, and we'll answer on WhatsApp. A person reads and replies — there is no bot on this number.
