Olympiad registration dates for October 2026, Classes 6–8

Seven olympiad registration dates for Classes 6 to 8 fall in October 2026, across two bodies. Five are SOF’s, and they are arithmetic rather than published dates. Two are Indian Talent Olympiad’s, and they are published outright. Six of the seven are dates for a school, not for a parent: the day by which the school’s list has to have reached the body. The seventh, 30 October 2026, is on Indian Talent Olympiad’s individual online route, which a family enters without the school.

Which olympiad registration dates fall in October 2026?

In date order: 10 October 2026 is Indian Talent Olympiad’s published Set B date on its school route. SOF’s rule then gives 18 October if your school picks the 17 November IEO sitting, 20 October if your school picks the 19 November ISO sitting, 24 October if your school picks the 23 November IHO sitting, 27 October if your school picks the 26 November IMO sitting, and 31 October if your school picks the 30 November ISSO sitting. Between the last two, 30 October 2026 is Indian Talent Olympiad’s published date for slot 1 of its individual online route.

How does SOF’s registration date work?

SOF publishes no last date. It publishes a rule, in its own words: “Schools may send registrations by 30 days before the chosen date of each exam.” So each date in the table is a subtraction from one sitting, and it is only real once the school has chosen that sitting. SOF also states that “change of date is not permitted”, so the choice fixes the cutoff. The same rule carries on past October: it gives 3 November if your school picks the 3 December ISO sitting and 10 November if your school picks the 10 December IMO sitting, and for the January 2027 sittings it gives 23 December if your school picks the 22 January IHO sitting and 20 December if your school picks the 19 January ISSO sitting.

What are Indian Talent Olympiad’s registration dates?

Indian Talent Olympiad publishes fixed dates on two separate routes. Through the school, its schedule page gives Set B as 10 October 2026 and Set C as 10 November 2026; Set A’s date was 10 September 2026, after two extensions, and has passed. Directly, its online schedule page reads “LAST DATE TO REGISTER - SLOT 1 30 th October, 2026”. That individual route lists six papers, among them maths (IMO), science (ISO), English (EIO) and social studies (NSSO), and it lists no Hindi paper, so Indian Talent Olympiad’s Hindi olympiad is entered through the school. The body marks its online exam dates as tentative in its own words: “The final exam schedule will be updated 20 days prior to the actual exam dates.”

Has SilverZone’s registration date passed?

As published, yes. SilverZone publishes one date covering every paper it runs, and on 1 October 2026 its own exam-date data still showed 30 September 2026 for the school route on all 34 of its records, with no later date and no notice of an extension. It has moved that date once this season, and only after the earlier one had gone by: its data returned 31 August 2026 until 1 September and 30 September 2026 from 2 September, with no announcement. So a passed date is not proof either way, and a school that has not registered should write to info@silverzone.org and ask whether an entry is still accepted. SilverZone also runs an individual registration form at r.silverzone.org; which papers it offers, and what closing date applies to it, we have not been able to confirm.

What should I ask my child’s school?

Three questions settle almost everything. Put them to the olympiad coordinator, or to the class teacher if the school has no coordinator.

• Which bodies are you entering this year, and in which subjects? If the school is entering neither SOF nor Indian Talent Olympiad, none of the school-route dates above applies to your child.
• Which sitting have you picked for each SOF paper? That choice is what fixes the cutoff, and SOF does not allow it to be changed afterwards.
• By when do you need my form and fee? A school has to collect forms and fees before it can send them, so its own collection date is the one a parent actually has to meet. We cannot see it from here; only the school can tell you.

What if the school is not entering my child?

Then the six school-route dates above are not your deadlines. Indian Talent Olympiad’s individual online route takes a registration straight from a family in maths, science, English and social studies, on the 30 October 2026 date above. Other bodies take a family directly too, and they do not all cover the same subjects; our olympiad calendar lists each one, with the dates that body publishes and the day we last read them.

The SOF dates are our subtraction from SOF’s published sittings, not figures SOF prints. Bodies have moved dates this season without announcing it, so confirm with the school or the body before acting on any copy of a date, ours included.
